X-Ray Specs
X-Ray Specs is a concept for Inman Perk Coffee’s labeling and packaging. The design is composed of a series of graphic pieces meant to be combined/extended to create a dynamic labeling system. The feature graphic pieces showcase nerd glasses with a color variation reminiscent of red/blue 3d glasses. The male/female pairing of glasses represents the various family couples that run different parts of the company.
This graphics are meant to be extended with commentary to add an element of humor. If the labels are printed in runs – ideally the commentary would be changed with each run. This is meant to make the labels more interesting over time. If a customer notices that the commentary changes on a routine basis, they will be likely to check back to see what the latest labels are saying.
This design can also be used to provide direction. Humans naturally look in the direction of others – so eye glasses are great for focusing attention in a direction. For example:
